PDSH Charity run

On the very hot and sunny afternoon of 26 of March, a team of nine runners from PDSH (RAF Benson) set off on a gruelling 10 mile cross country run to raise money for the worthwhile charity – the Forces Children’s Trust.

The Forces Children’s Trust is charity devoted to helping children whose father or mother has died, or has sustained life changing injuries whilst serving as a member of the BritishArmed Forces.

The route took them out across the fields adjacent to rabbit hill, heading towards Britwell Salome before pulling up onto some rather steep hills and cutting across to wyncome then, after another extremely dry field footpath, a long gradual pull up to bring them back towards base.

After about 2.5 miles, the team suffered their first casualty as Cpl Glen Evans (The spandex warrior!) had severe cramp in his hamstring and had to turn back. The remaining eight led by Cpl Karl Lawrence carried on and completed the route in approximately 1 hr 30.

The team managed to raise in excess of £200 for this charity.

Cpl Karl Lawrence would like to thank the team and everyone who sponsored them in helping to raise money for this worthwhile cause.

The team was made up as follows:

Sqn Ldr Cudlipp

FO Coulman

Cpl Bucknall

Cpl Evans

Cpl Lawrence

Cpl Mantle

SAC Austwick

SAC Bull

SAC Macinnes
