It’s just been announced that the Forces Children’s Trust is this years nominated charity for the River Ayr Way Challenge, a scenic 53 mile ultra marathon in Ayrshire. Part of the Scottish Ultra Marathon series the River Ayr Challenge is a popular event for runners and walkers wanting a challenge beyond the normal marathon distance.
The River Ayr Way was opened in 2006 and takes a beautiful river-side route from source to the sea. Walkers can complete the race in two days, whlist runners do it in one day. Last year’s fastest time was 5:04:19, but typical times are between 7 and 9 hours.
So, if you want to do something amazing and help our work with Forces Children, please sign up for the River Ayr Challenge.
